September 23, 200520 yr Just purchased and installed Ultimate Terrain. Great program but I was wondering if UT disables autogen because I see much less trees and much less buildings. I dont know if I'm just too used to FS9's autogen but it feels like a lot of spots are just barren and empty after having added UT. Thank you.
September 23, 200520 yr The reason this is is because in order to get the great enhanced lighting it was actually done as 3D Objects. This however has the side effect of reducing the Autogen, because FS will not allow one 3D object on top of another. The good newd is this can be minimized by turning off Residential enhanced lighting (Which IMHO I think looks better with it off) Or you can turn all enhanced lighting off if you only fly during the day, or don't need it, which will add most if not all Autogen back!! September 23, 200520 yr Commercial Member Yup just turn enhanced night lighting off during the day, on at night... Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
September 23, 200520 yr A lot of us turn off the enhanced residential roads as well to get more autogen. There are still tons of roads, and the urban textures in FS give the illusion of having roads anyway. With the UT configuator, it is very easy to try turning on/off the enhanced residential roads and enhanced night lighting so you can pick what works best for you.Tony=http://www.flightsim-bevs.com]
September 24, 200520 yr Thanks guys,I was wondering about this myself. I thought it was related to the landclass. This looks much better. Too bad it can't switch the extra lights on and off on the fly (no pun intended). You can't see the trees at night. Thomas
September 24, 200520 yr I must say that I messed up big time in another thread started by myself in this forum a couple of days ago about just this very program. What I did was install the program. Belly ache about how bad it was, and fool with it for the best part of 2 days. And then read the manual.....Wrong !Almost all the problems I encountered, and those talked about here, are clearly discussed in the manual, including work-arounds. This program is a piece of work, with lots of nice options to make it the way the user wants it. Bob (Lecanto, Fl)

September 24, 200520 yr Bob! It takes a big man to admit when he was wrong, right now I'm responding to a big man!!!:-beerchug Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
September 24, 200520 yr Bob,If it wasnt for you thread I wouldn't of known that there was an update not to mention two of them. I wouldnt of also gave all the other features a try again after the patches to see if I like anything new about it. I also wouldnt of done some more investgating to find out about whats wrong with the nantucket island only to find that its due to my KPVD scenery and how to fix it. I also wouldnt of found out that I can get plenty more auto gen and the nights to look better by shutting off the night lights over the residental parts. Bob you and you alone are responcible for my simming to be all the better now and able to get way more out of UT than I have since I brought it.Kilstorm
