Hi, just wondering how I can make all panels darker. for example, the overhead so bright, on tutorials i'm watching it should be much darker. All light  adjustment knobs are in off position.

For a start, which platform? Using DX10 extender? Using HDR? So many questions.

I'm using Prepar3d, DX10. Not sure about HDR, sorry

Prepar3D uses DX11 so maybe that you are trying to use DX10 is part of the problem.  See the P3D display settings for the HDR... if used it needs to be adjusted to suit your taste. Some like it, I don't use it.

It looks bright because of HDR. If you're in v3, there are settings that you can adjust.
