Can I set a 'default' VC Zoom for particular aircraft?

Featured Replies

I have one aircraft (an MD DC-8) which has its VC by default set way out in front of the plane - in other words the VC shows the cockpit as a small space a few hundred metres in front of the aircraft. If I zoom in to x4.0 it at least looks acceptable.

I can of course just zoom in every flight, but is there any way to set this 4.0x zoom just for this one aircraft in FS9? I am guessing not (searching these forums didn't lead to anything), though you can of course set the 2D zoom in the panel.cfg.

I clearly don't want to set my default flight with this VC zoom or all my a/c will be affected.

Thanks,

Sound like the view point is wrong.

From the C172 aircraft.cfg...

eyepoint= -3.95, -0.85, 2.1         //(feet) longitudinal, lateral, vertical distance from reference datum

Try changing the longitudinal value.

Ah, of course! I've done that before (to adjust the vertical value), but a long time ago and had forgotten about it.

Thanks for the reminder Joe!!  :smile:
