P3DV3 - Computer problem? Just two Realair aircraft - security/sharing?

Featured Replies

I have had the Turbine Duke and Legacy 2 both working superbly in P3DV3 - Windows 8.0.

They work for days and then I lose them!

No matter what I try (including numerous re-installation's) I keep getting an error message when loading either of the Realair aircraft.

Both are of course installed in directories outside P3D as recommended.

Error Encountered

MMSystem - Unspecified Error

Full Error Code 0x88780078

Location 10

File

It's a progressive error message. By this I mean if I click 'OK' a bit more loading progress - then error message again, etc.

Rob has tried to help but no one else has reported this problem.  We both feel it's sharing or security or UAC but no matter what we try I've lost two of my favourite aircraft and can't get them back without reinstalling P3D.

Any suggestions please?

Any anti virus software running?  Does the error occur if you install to the P3D root directory?  IE if install them into the usual location....?

I'm sure you've thought of everything already...

I google "MMsystem"

http://www.solvusoft.com/en/files/missing-not-found-error/dll/windows/microsoft/msdn-disc-2440/mmsystem-dll/

Googled your error code:

(Could be related to the special sounds in use.... not sure)

If it is sound related you could try changing your sound device in P3D settings...

I uninstalled antivirus.

I never thought of that - but have just tried installing in P3D folder and got same error on loading.

Thanks.

Sound device!

I spent hours trying everything and Ryan points me in the right direction in just 19 minutes.  The power of AVSIM!

I had unplugged my USB headset which left no sound device enabled.

Apparently Realair aircraft don't like that.

I ran sound device troubleshooter and it enabled the usual pc sound device.

Now both Realair aircraft work.

Thanks Ryan.

(Thanks Rob for 2 great aircraft.)
