Fresh install...fresh problems

Recommended Posts

Okay so i've decided to install FSX on an SSD.

All was going well until I loaded it up and was presented with this.  I've looked online and can't seem to find a fix.  Can anyone help?

...and drivers are up to date!

I'm not advocating this but some have gotten rid of the Black Screen by checking the DX10 box.  If yours is

checked, then maybe uncheck it.

Welcome to the forum(s). Some people seem to have had really good luck with FSX and Windows 10. Other people seem to have had a really miserable time of it. There's no way to tell (yet) which group you'll fall into. Play with it, enjoy it, and don't worry too much about that which may never occur. You can search the forum here, or just Google, to get a feel what others have experienced. In any event, should a problem arise just come back and post the problem. The guys (and gals) here can fix anything.

Also, make sure you have the fix - highmemfix=1 in the Graphics section of the FSX.cfg.  Many forget this parameter when first installing or deleting the config and letting it rebuild.

The AVSIM FSX Configuration Guide provides many useful suggestions for setting up FSX.  See link in my signature.
