Airport Vehicle Crashes

Featured Replies

Why are vehicles or other aircraft crashing into me while taxiing or in pushback.  I can be stopped and a fuel truck will drive into my aircraft, or another aircraft runs into me, or I can be on the runway gaining takeoff speed and a truck will come across the runway and crash into me.

I like the traffic and have the traffic sliders up to high.

I have looked thru the FMC setup screens and can't find anything that relates.

Is there something to be done about this?

Thanks.

Martin

Turn off crash detection in the realism settings.

Thank you for the suggestion.  I changed the realism settings to "ignore crashes" from "detect crashes" and this has partially solved the problem. Now the offending vehicle just passes thru my aircraft and this still bugs me, but at least it doesn't shut down and require a restart because of a crash as before.

Thanks for your help.

No problem. And the vehicles passing through your aircraft is just a limitation of the engine. can't do anything about it sadly.

Martin,

Full names in the forum, please - first and last.

What various developers choose to do with their modeling is up to them. There's nothing we can do to change this. The people modeling the cars/traffic need to make the objects aware of other aircraft, which is more of a hassle than anything. I get that it brings the realism down a bit, but if you find it to be an issue, you should let them know about how you feel.
