Suggestion for a next update

Featured Replies

Hello, I do not know if anyone has written here about this, did a little research and nothing , so I'll leave my suggestion.

Whem the aircraft start pushback, and the FO receives the order to start engines, he could call the page ENG on Lower Display, because at this stage it is off

Another suggestion

create a new option on the CFG, to choose whem the FO turn your clock on, Takeoff or Pushback.

(because I know captain who prefer start the clock on takeoff and this avoids being both at the same time)

They are only suggestions to improve a little more this excellent product.

Hi Joao,

It sounds like  you're not calling "Before Start Procedure".

The FO will attempt to set the lower display to ENG during that flow.

Check the manual:

Yes and Yes,

The sequence is

BEFORE START PROCEDURE (LOWER DISPLAY TO ENGINE)

them

BEFORE START CHECKLIST (cancel the lower display on de checklist and never do this again)

them

ENGINE START SECTION

Right?

Are you running the pre-flight procedure?

Which panel state are you using?

The displays can be tricky for the FO to control because we can't read their current state/position due to SDK limits... as a result, the FO blindly toggles some of them.  That system works, so long as the display is the assumed position.

What do you mean with "Which panel state are you using?"

i use the Button Control and following as it says in the manual.

  • 2 weeks later...

Let's try again!

In manual say!

"FO'S BEFORE START FLOW

FO'S CDU LEGS PAGE

LOWER DISPLAY TO HYDRAULICS

HYDRAULICS ON

FUEL PUMPS ON

BEACON ON

TRANSPONDER ON IF ASDEX OPTION SELECTED TO YES

LOWER DISPLAY TO ENGINE

DOME LIGHT OFF IF NIGHT"

Them

"BEFORE START CHECKLIST (PLEASE)

Flight deck door (Pax Models)

Passenger Signs (Pax Models)

Supernumerary signs (Freighter model)

MCP

Takeoff speeds

CDU preflight

Trim

Taxi and takeoff briefing

Beacon

Closed and locked -F

__ - F

__ - F

V2___, HEADING/TRACK___, ALTITUDE ___ -C

V1__, VR___, V2___ -C

Completed - Both

___ Units 0 and 0 - C

Completed -C

On - F"

Ok?

After this checklist, the LOWER DISPLAY turn off.

It's possible the FO's turn is on and to Engine pages!

Thank's

João

I just tried it, and it set the lower display to engine properly for me.

after making the BEFORE START CHECKLIST?

For me dont' work!

after making the BEFORE START CHECKLIST?

For me dont' work!

This is what I did.

1. Loaded PMDG 777.

2. Load PMDG "Short Panel" state.

3. Ran "Before Start Procedure".... FO set the lower display to ENG.

4. Ran "Before Start Checklist" using the ECL.  At the end of the checklist, the lower display was in ENG as expected.

Thing to remember, due to SDK limits, we cannot "read" the position of the lower displays.  So if you're manually changing displays, etc., you could throw things out of the expected order.

When it comes to setting the displays, the FS2Crew FO is largely "blind".

If that happens, just manually set the display yourself...

Your poor FO is working for free, so give him a hand  :Tounge:
