Way back Slo Mo was making excellant 18's with perfect air files by Steve Small. Those aircraft are great but won't work or display properly in COF. If your download was somewhat newer it was probably the 18 by Greg Pepper, fantastic modeling job to say the least. If you want the newest look for the one that Milton and his crew just put out.David
October 1, 200520 yr Simtech also released their D-18 as freeware last year. I couldn't find it here on Avsim. It is on flightsim.com. There were also some versions available as Volpar by Brian Gladden and another by Roger Gilbert for 2002.Thomas
October 1, 200520 yr Donny AKA ShalomarFly 2 ROCKS!!!I like the Volpar, one is based at the airport closest to my house, Slatington 69N.Cliff Presley went over the Simtech B18 extensively and made it a C45 "Expediter" military transport with bare metal finish and enhanced just about everything. It's a complete package, cp-c45g.zip in the library.Best Regards, Donny:-wave
October 2, 200520 yr I downloaded the free Simtech D18. I've never bought a payware aircraft and wanted to see what one was like. The visual model is nice but I was very disappointed with the cockpits. They use some modern intruments including the default Cessna VORs, vacuum_amperemeter, the standard fs9gps, and the Bendix_King radios. All these are totally inappropriate for an aircraft of that vintage. The radio stack is visible in the 2D and VC cockpits and the GPS is built into the co-pilots panel in the VC.Also the instruments in the VC are very clearly 12-sided and the oiul pressure lights 7-sided. This isn't a fault of my PC - they're shown like that in the Simtech images included with its Ops Manual.I know it's free now but I'm glad I didn't buy it earlier. Gerry Howard
October 4, 200520 yr Donny AKA ShalomarFly 2 ROCKS!!!I imagine there few B18s used for anything other than museum pieces that actually have original avionics. True, EFIS might seem out of place, but retrofitting of avionics is very common even in newer aircraft. I enjoy vintage aircraft with the capability of ILS aproaches etc. I actually like the fact the Volpar has an HSI, which may not even have been invented when the B18 ceased production.Best Regards, Donny:-wave
