Upper airways VS lower airways

Featured Replies

Ok as the title says, i'm wondering if anyone has real world knowledge or anything that knows when do we use lower airways? If we fly heavys like 737 and A320s for example from LOWS to EGGP. Do we include lower airways for the STAR into EGGP? Because at EGGP KEGUN2B

It mentions ONLY lower airways for the routing into the STAR?

So what is allowed? I got CFMU pass with having lower airways and upper airways going into KEGUN2B - from ELVOS T420 and i also tried UT420.

I'll try to help with some general info. and keep it very simple.

Lower airways are usually reserved if operating below FL180.  Upper airways are usually reserved for ops. above FL180.  This is for a number of reasons I (or others) can explain if desired.
