March 25, 201610 yr I've been reading up that you can't use USB keyboard mouse or USB bootable Windows 7 on some 1151 boards, namely Asrock. Does anyone know what's up with this? I have two WIP upgrade builds both with Asrock boards Pro4S 6600K Gskill ripjaws v 2x8gb ddr4 3200mhz Or Fatality http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=N82E16813157676&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-Mobile&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-Mobile-_-pla-_-Motherboards+-+Intel-_-N82E16813157676&gclid=CLjgppG93MsCFQ6maQodb7sJAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds 6700K Same ram It's 450 vs 680 USD... But anyway I use win7 from a DVD but I use USB KB/mouse - is it an issue? Edit: apparently this is all 1151 boards - hmmm - wonder why Intel did that... | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

March 25, 201610 yr I have the Asrock Fata1ty k6 MB in my new build and can confirm that there is no support for Win 7 usb keyboard and mouse out of the box. There is a workaround that is described in the manual. See Page 64 for details. http://66.226.78.22/downloadsite/Manual/Fatal1ty%20Z170%20Gaming%20K6.pdf I9 12900K @5.2Ghz 64 GB DDR4, RTX 4090, Win 11 Pro, 15 TB on 5 SSD's
March 25, 201610 yr Author What if I have an optical drive and ps/2 keyboard.... would that work? I might be able to dig around for an old ps2 KB Oh I see your link now... looks like I can enable their USB "sim" with and use my optical drive. Thanks for that! Any comments on the board itself? Asrock used to be pretty junky but they're all made in Taiwan anyway now hehe | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 25, 201610 yr It's a solid performing board so far. It's populated with 16GB GSKILL DD4 and an i76700K that I am OCing to 4.6 GHz running rock solid. Time will tell, I suppose. I9 12900K @5.2Ghz 64 GB DDR4, RTX 4090, Win 11 Pro, 15 TB on 5 SSD's
