  1. I've been flying the PMDG 777 with the Winwing PFP7; I also have the PFP3 but it doesn't recognize it using Simapp but others who use Mobius have many more options. The PFP3 and PMDG 737 works great in 2020 but it has not yet been released for 2024. That's pretty much the extent of my experience so far.
  2. The 777-200 takes 99% of my flight time which is over 20 hours per week. I am very happy to finally use TopCat for the T7 as I purchased it previously in my 737 heavy days.
  3. Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I read that and already performed that action before the original post... Any other ideas from anyone?
  4. My P3D 3.3 SIM ran absolutely wonderful until a few days ago. Now all my body of water are frozen (ice) in summer. The symptoms started with an unexpected scenery index at startup, and frozen water when flying. Everything else in the scenario displays in the proper season, which is "summer" according to the scenario "start up" editor and in flight Weather menu dialog boxes. The water is frozen using default scenario and plane as well. Rig: I7-6700K @4.6, 16GB RAM, GTX 1080 OS: Win 10 Anniversary Edition: all up to date including Nvidia drivers Prepare 3D Professional:. AS16 and ASCA, ORBX Global, Vector, NA1, NA2, PNW, Rockies series and Meigs Field Airplane: PMDG T7 Can someone please point me in the right direction for a solution? Harold Finch
  5. My reply may not be reflective of the mainstream answer when I say no. I am very much looking forward to flying the bus, but at this point I have my P3D up and running and FSX has been un-installed from my rig. I shall wait until the P3D version is out, then happily purchase it.
  6. I've been using a Philips 43" BDM4350 UHD monitor for about 2 months now. Colors are spot on using 10 bit Output Color Depth, 60 htz using DisplayPort, powered by a GTX1080.
  7. I run an i7 6700k @4.6 GHz and have found no advantage in disabling HT.
  8. Same here. My combos is so old I only have 1 axis controller by the throttle/prop/mix levers. I use them daily for hours and they are indestructible.
  9. Asrock Z-170 K-6 worked first time out of the box for me. You have some seriously bad luck in MB's there.
  10. You would around net 1-2 fps.
  11. I started out in the GPU card world as a game developer during the Voodoo I series pre-relase/release time period. It still amazes me how much we have advanced in such a short time. Right now I'm using the Zotac 1080 Amp! for $629 directly from Zotak through Amazon Prime about 3 weeks back. It clocks at 1949 Mhz out of the box and runs full load at around 65-70c. I've used all the major mfrs throughout the years and the build quality is on the par with EVGA tier mfrs. It came with a 5 year warranty. Performance in SIM is on the same level as already posted in this thread and other threads. This generation of cards seems very close in performance across mfrs and even individual cards more than recent previous generations. With the 1070 and 1060 cards already in place this is a very interesting time for GPU cards.
  12. I'm running Win 10 Pro and the experience is at least as good as on the Windows 7 I upgraded from. Do a clean install and and you will wonder why you waited.
  13. I have migrated from FSX to Prepar3D. Previously I had the PMDG 747 for FSX and the Prepar3D version is no longer available. The money allotted for purchase is waiting patiently for this wonderful bird to be re-released. In the meantime I am more than happy flying the NGX and 777. These are great times for Flight SIM enthusiasts for sure. Harold Finch
  14. HighBypass and Novation, thanks for the compliment. HighBypass, sorry I missed that info: I migrated to Prepare3D v 3.3.5 with X plane 10.45 (and PMDG's DC-6) for a bit of exploration. Prepar3D has ASN and Orbx Global and Vector installed. 99% of my flying is in P3Din either the 777 or 737. The image shown is P3D with PMDG's T7. Novation, Yeah it was just a quick snapshot that afterwards I thought of sharing. I'm still tuning things up so once I'm done that menu is history, You are quite right, BTW. Harold Finch
  15. Hi, this is the first screen shot I've shared with the community. I've been SIMming since the 80's but haven't shared yet. I've recently migrated from FSX-SE when a system failure nudged me towards a new build. Here's the particulars: i7-6700 @4.7 Ghz 32GB DD4 (GSkill 3200) ASRock z-170 K6, Zotac GTX 1080 Amp, Philips 4K Monitor (BDM4350UC). Flight is KORD to KABQ, somewhere over the plains states. No photo shopping except for format conversion from .bmp to. jpg. Harold Finch
  16. Invest $10.00 in a one month license and then get back to us. I've been flying SIMs on PC since the 80's, tried a couple months of Prepar3D and purchased the full license. I still have FSX installed, but hardly touch it.
  17. Asrock z-170 K6 running a 6700K @ 4.7GHz 32 GB GSkill RAM running solid as a rock for 4 months now.
  18. I use PFPX to plan flights and it has all the data needed. http://www.flightsimsoft.com/pfpx/ Harold Finch
  19. The patent belongs to an European Corp (Luxembourg) founded in Australia. The patent is filed in Australia. This is international greed, folks.
  20. Did anyone catch that Uniloc is an Australian Corporation suing in USA?
  21. Perhaps they are using it commercially as a security trainer... training isn't always fun. And although we are allowed to purchase it and use it for personal use, it's primary use is training not gaming.
  22. Looking forward to a Day 0 purchase. Thanks PDGM.
  23. Programs such as PFPX and Simbrief can automatically create more than one file; one for the FSX flight planner and one for the PMDG 777. Open FSX free flight, then the FSX planner and import the plan created in your choice of 3rd party planner into the FSX flight planner; then start the 777 SIM and load the plan in the 777 through the FMC. You will be right as rain and both the 777 and ATC will have the same plan. I have mne set up so the flight plan even gets imported into Active Weather. I have mine set ups so PFPX creates a version for FSX, Prepar3D and my PMDG 737/777 flights all at the same time. It's a win/win situation for me.
  24. Yes, when it died I replaced it. Same computer is running fine now with new card. I think it was heat related, the case on the X51 is very small and poorly ventilated. I replaced it with a Nvidia GTX 970, but most smaller thinner cards will fit. The X-51 is an "interesting" computer to work on. The graphics card plugs into a 90 degree adapter board so that the card can fit in the case. There are YouTube videos out there showing step by step replacement.
