I recently made the switch from FSX boxed version to FSX steam and when installing the G430/530, I got a message stating "The Windows Registry points to FSX Steam and Microsoft FSX in the same folder. This installation cannot continue until this is corrected"

 

Any suggestions on properly fixing this problem?

Dovetail Games, in a moment of sheer idiocy, made it so their release of FSX now sets the default FSX registry entry as well as their own.

 

So installers suddenly think you have the boxed version installed, when you don't.

 

Our installer won't accept that so you need to remove the registry entry that indicates you have a FSX:MS installation.
