October 10, 200520 yr Im thinking of purchasing bev(I mean for 12$ you cant really go wrong) But I find on my sytem If I turn autogen on It impacts frames quite a bit, So if I install BEV and dont use autogen will I still see a diffrence?SystemP-IV 1.8 GHZ386 Megs of ram(Very low I know)GeForce FX5500 OC 256 Mb40 GIG HD Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
October 10, 200520 yr Hi,Your textures will be different.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
October 10, 200520 yr I can't imagine flying without autogen, that is what makes the experience for me.As Jim said, you can probably still use it that way and have improved textures. From the shots I have seen there is considerably less tiling which is a plus.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
October 10, 200520 yr Hi,The responses above are accurate. BEV replaces your MS default textures so there will be no frame rate hit. Another BONUS with BEV is the newly designed autogen buildings PLUS proper alignment of the buildings which has always been lacking in MSFS.Even if you don't use autogen there will be a major improvement of the textures you will see.For all your answers and screenshots please visit and register at our forum http://www.flightsim-bevs.com/Vince Carlo Quote
October 10, 200520 yr Im wondering if I was to upgrade to 1Gb of ram if it would help with autogen. What Im saying is that I know ram doesnt really improve FPS but im wondering if I upgrade ram if it will let me turn up the autogen and have a decent FPS.The only thing I can see that is slowing down the sim with autogen is ram.Any comments?Thanks.P.S I think I will go ahead and take the plunge, 12$ is a good price for a volume. October 10, 200520 yr I think you will see some improvement with more RAM. Really need to upgrade the CPU. Let us know your impressions after you get some flights in.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
October 10, 200520 yr Will doThanks again Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
October 10, 200520 yr The koorbygen set I produced for BEV is using a 1024x1024 resolution bitmap, verus the original FS2004 512x512. I did that to increase the quality fourfold. That could, potentially account for some slowdown, but I highly doubt it, since it's an extra 512Kb out of hundreds of MB of textures loaded.
