No Live Weather
For me, it's mainly an overall "look". When Asobo weather is working, the environment (clouds, sky lighting, ground shadows, etc) just appear much more realistic. Occasionally with REX, I get bad wind shifts that I NEVER see with Asobo weather. REX is a very good backup plan to have when these occasional outages occur. I always fly on VATSIM and require accurate live temps, winds, altimeter readings etc.

No Live Weather
REX Weather Force is NOT my "go to" choice but when flying on VATSIM, it's nice to have this backup available. Asobo LIVE Wx down ? Simply hit "Clear Skies" and launch REX. Presto > live weather to fly on VATSIM 👍

Why the Hjet?
Awesome use of MSFS ! I run something similar to a RW operation. As the owner of Jet It, FSE, I operate 3 Honda Jets out of KGSO in FS Economy ( https://www.fseconomy.net/ ) Having fun and making lots of v$$ handpicking the VIP charters around the US. Looks like you may be a Ravens fan. If so, wishing us a great season 🤞

Bets biz jet for short runways
Flight1 Mustang - hands down. I own both Carenado Phenoms with the GTN 750 mods. They are pretty good for a change of pace, but cannot compete with the Mustang IMHO.

Pics are great, Mitch  Like you, I left Vector for UTX when they released the P3D compatible version. Guess I need to give Vector another chance to impress. Your pics certainly have impressed ....

Orbx openLC NA - Quick Night Lighting Before and After
+1 Great question, Kevin... that's very similar to what I was hoping someone would answer in this thread http://www.avsim.com/topic/492667-question-for-utx-usacanadatropics-and-ftx-openlc-usaowners/#entry3460423

Question for UTX (USA/Canada/Tropics) and FTX OpenLC USAOwners
Hello. I would ask this question at ORBX forum, but currently unable as site is down at this time. I intend to purchase the FTX Open LC NA and will be keeping my UTX USA and Tropics installed as I prefer this over the ORBX Vector application. For any new owners of the FTX Open LC NA released today, are there any instructions (owners manual) regarding conflicts between UTX landclass and the new FTX product.? I think the solution may be to just launch the UTX configurator and UNCHECK all LANDCLASS entries, but was hoping to receive some confirmation. Thanks for your assistance

Active Sky Cloud Art for FSX & P3D - Released!
Thanks for the links Jim, very interesting. This brings up a question for our RW pilots here. Are these diversions around weather initiated by the PIC viewing his weather radar asking ATC for clearance to deviate (this is how we do it on VATSIM) ? Or is the heading change controlled by ATC watching weather radar in conjunction with all the other traffic enroute ? I often wondered who the "orchestra conductor" is when I watch these real world deviations around weather

Tom Hanks plays Sully in new movie (engine out Hudson landing)
I'm surprised you aren't upset the AAL livery was NOT around in 2009 and the 2 UNITED planes were Continental then. At least they kept the US Airways 320 in tact. C'mon give Hollywood a break {tongue firmly in cheek}

Tom Hanks plays Sully in new movie (engine out Hudson landing)
I agree Mike, but I feel we always want "no stone unturned". My guess is that movie studios are well aware that "controversy" sells tickets  . All they have to do is state "Based on a true story" This way probably less than 5% of the population will know what the NTSB REALLY concluded .

Tom Hanks plays Sully in new movie (engine out Hudson landing)
Thanks for the H/U -- will be a first day seating for me. I am not crazy about the film's implication from the investigators, but I am only guessing this was added for "dramatical effect". Two paragraphs from the official NTSB report stand out for me -- "7. If the accident engines’ electronic control system had been capable of informing the flight crewmembers about the continuing operational status of the engines, they would have been aware that thrust could not be restored and would not have spent valuable time trying to relight the engines, which were too damaged for any pilot action to make operational. 15. The captain’s decision to ditch on the Hudson River rather than attempting to land at an airport provided the highest probability that the accident would be survivable." Hope you are enjoying retirement Sully, God Bless...

Looking for a decent biz jet
hhhmmmm... costs of F1 Mustang with G1000 - pretty complete but not full functionality = $34.95 // costs of >> G1000 STUDENT SIMULATOR PRO Includes all the features of the G1000 Student Simulator, plus built-in support for integration with the Simkits TRC1000 and the Emuteq G1000. This version is also suitable for cockpit building. Also includes a simulated Integrated Electronic Standby Instrument system (IESI). $995.00 on CD (Licensed for commercial (non-resell) use. Does not include Flight Simulator X, Prepar3D, or hardware.) ... think I'll stick with the Flight 1 G1000

Flight1 Mustang Freezes on startup in Prepar3d
Sorry about your problems, Gregg. My only suggestion is to go back to the F1 wrapper and make sure you download with ALL antivirus turned off and re install with the AV still disabled. I cannot offer any other as I have been fortunate and experienced ZERO issues with the Mustang in P3D version 3.x Good luck
