April 12, 201610 yr I have looked through the forum and haven't found anything, appologies if I missed it. When I click a switch in 2D or VC, the click is loud and casues a few seconds of fade in the general sound on the flight deck. What causes this? I run onboard Realtec, or whatever sound. Thanks. I've been having similar sound issues for some time now including a weird 'wind-like' sound just sitting at an airport with the engine(s) off. Yes, click a switch and other sounds fade and then slowly return to normal volume level. When you say general sound fade does this include engine noise also? In my case, yes. For example when the wheels hit the pavement when landing which trigers the reading of an appropriate tire-screech sound file, the volume of the engine sound fades and then progressively returns to normal volume. I don't remember ever having such sound issues in the past but I can't put my finger on when it all started. JJ Jean-Jacques CYND, Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport, Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
April 12, 201610 yr Author Yes it does. My OP was rushed as I was leaving for work and had spent 2 hours searching. I'm sure I've seen something about it. It is as though there is an imbalance in the sound output after a switch is clicked. Imust add that it is mainly with a/c such as the iFly 747 and 737, Wilco Airbus, etc. Well, as I never use freeware or default a/c it's all of them I sippose :-). OT Installed your FSEvo last week, loving it, thanks so much. JJ describes the effect perfectly. Robert Helton BAVirtual Chief Pilot Regional Jets Cityflyer EGLC
April 12, 201610 yr Could have something to do with windows, I suppose. Try this: Right click the speaker icon on the taskbar.Click "Playback Devices".You should get a screen titled "Sound".Click the communication tab. There is a set of radio buttons titled: "When windows detects communication activity:"Select the "Do Nothing" option. I found this the other day on the web and it cured some random sound fades I had (not in FS) but in Euro Truck 2 and DTM3. Installed your FSEvo last week, loving it, thanks so much. Thanks )) Sascha Rieger | EVO Developer What is EVO • How to get Evo 2016 • FS9 Evolution Forum
April 13, 201610 yr Author I made the suggested change and I hear a difference, the fade is not as pronounced as before. Thank you. Robert Helton BAVirtual Chief Pilot Regional Jets Cityflyer EGLC
