May 7, 201610 yr I'm looking for an FSX which is compatible with the Swiss Professional Scenery. Trawling the various auctions sites I have discovered that there is FSX Gold 2006 and FSX Gold 2008. Does anyone here know whether there are any significant differences between the two which might affect compatibility with the Swiss Professional Scenery ?
May 7, 201610 yr I would go with FSX Steam instead. SPS works just fine. Let me guess.... you want 64bit. Josh Daniels-Johannson
May 7, 201610 yr Author I would go with FSX Steam instead. SPS works just fine. Thanks for this feedback. That's most interesting. If I may just check: have you yourself run SPS with FSX Steam ? The reason I ask is that a vendor here in Switzerland tells me that the Swiss Professional Scenery doesn't work with Steam so now I'm getting confused.
May 7, 201610 yr FSX Gold is FSX Professional plus Acceleration and was released in 2007 or 8 or so. There is no 2006 version. 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
May 8, 201610 yr Author Thanks for this reply. It seems that some vendors are getting their FS product names mixed up and I'm becoming increasingly confused.
May 9, 201610 yr The FSX 2006 version was titled Microsoft Flight Simulator X Deluxe Edition, I still have it and the price was $70 U.S. The Gold edition came out later, and I have that version as well.
