Troubleshooting

Featured Replies

Hi all,

i have been looking around the internet for a solution. Could someone kindly point me to a troubleshooting guide for the DX10 fixer as every time i run FSX Steam with DX10 activated it CTD after i select a free flight. Sometimes it just disappears and sometimes i get an FSX has stopped working message. Looking at the event log it points to different Dlll files as the reason for failing.

Thanks

Can you uninstall the fixer libraries and test if it works ok?

Tries this with FSX\API.dll as the faulting module.

I tried uninstalling the libraries and switching back to DX9 and all works but now when i go back to DX10 the sim crashes with no log off the error.

Just some more Troubleshooting. I uninstalled the fixer and tried running FSX with DX10 preview and the sim still crashes the same.Runs fine with DX9

Ok so the problem isn't the fixer then. The fixer checks for most incompatibilities when you install the libraries .

Do you have fsx spotlights installed? a few users are reporting errors so try uninstalling it.

What dlls are listed in your dll.xml, what dlls beginning with d exist in your main fsx directory where fsx.exe lives

What kind of graphics card do you have? Is the Intel one on the chip disabled in bios?

GeForce GTX 980 TI

Bios: Main Graphics Adapter = PCI Express

BTW there is missing an entry in the dll.xml file according to the shown file above.

The last line on the bottom from the dll.xml file should be   </SimBase.Document>  . To be added, if missing.

I have run out of ideas on this one. Sorry that's why I suggest testing dx10 preview works before purchase. Send me your order reference id by personal message.

Hi Steve,

Thank you for taking the time to help me troubleshoot i really appreciate it.

It appears i have found a solution. When flight starts to load before it disappears i hit alt + tab and all works.
