October 6, 20169 yr One more thing on the bat file. I tried setting TrackIR5 with a bat file and it runs ok from that bat file. But when checking the Task Manager - Affinity, it always shows that ALL cores are selected. Does this mean the .bat file is not working for Track IR or is this not a reliable way to check which cores are being used? Usually this is caused by the cmd.exe (which loads BAT files) not being run as an administrator. There is no way to set this property for a BAT file, but you can create a shortcut to the BAT files and set the administrator option for the shortcut. Other alternatives are to use either FSUIPC, Powershell or Project Lasso to set the affinity.
October 6, 20169 yr Do you have to set up process explorer everytime for the addins or is it saved? download a program called process priority control . it will do the job for you. https://www.prnwatch.com/prio/ henry
October 7, 20169 yr It's true 3.4 performs slightly differently, but the recommendation for four cores remains the same: four cores has always been recommended no AM, let the sim use all four cores and start addons above core zero, preferably on cores 2 and 3. Recommended is HT enabled if you got it on your CPU and AM=85 (four jobs) or AM=245 (six jobs). Using three cores (AM=14) is never going to be as good as four (AM=0=15), but only really comes in handy if we want to restrict an addon to core zero and keep the sim off of core zero. Even in this case HT enabled and AM=116 performs better than with HT off and AM=14. Useful info for me. Will test these values for AM in my 6700k HT on. José Fco.
