Sandy textures in the English Lake District ....

Featured Replies

Following an FTX Central v2 recommended update to my EU_Eng, my neck of the woods now looks like a 'sandy' version of the moon. FTX_EU_ENG 140 was fine but, with the new updates (150+), this area is now totally devoid of detail and is populated by rather strange, random  'sandy' textures.  I have an open ticket on the Orbx Support Forum and am following several other threads but - I am not holding my breath.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Hmmm,,,,  A couple of hours in and nary a single reply?. Silence be damned.  Any (or all) comments on this would be appreciated..... or is it not 'de rigeuer' to question the recipient of my cash?

It's all the silt from the flooding ....

They haven't done something silly and rendered some kind of autumnal light brown texture in there?? I'm still flying over default terrain but with a decent mesh, so I wouldn't know really. No ORBX here.

There are sandy textures all over the world where they don't belong. Orbx seems to think the entire planet looks like Australia.

Well then... after exhausting every conceivable remedy and fix known to man and Orbx I have finally rolled back my FTX England to v140 and all is as it should be again. Fortunately, amongst all of the mayhem over the last few days, I stumbled across a remedy for some micro-stutters that I had been experiencing for the last couple of weeks - and that was an on-line banking app from Trusteer Endpoint Protection called Rapport that I had recently installed (kudos to Jim Young for that one  :good: ). It turned out that it was apparently trying to read every file that P3D was accessing (hence the occasional stutters). Hey Ho!!

So. Proper scenery and smooth running again. Pass me the bottle of chilled .....     :yahoo:
