VAS Problem

Featured Replies

Hello,

I recently bought this program in coordination with my purchase of FS Labs A320X because I'd read that this new plane may cause problems with VAS shutdowns.

Until installing DX10 fixer, I'd never had any VAS problems. Ironically, I now have lots of VAS problems. Probably something I'm doing wrong.

The reason for my post is that I can't seem to restore DX9. I've followed the instructions but when I run fsx afterwards, the scenery loading screen gets stuck on 80%.

I would like to restore DX9 to check whether this improves the situation.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

The FSL320X is very sophisticated and complex and uses a lot of VAS and thus it is necessary to wind back the sliders /remove scenery that you are not flying to etc etc as advised on their website to avoid running out of VAS

DX10 preview is not a magic fix for this - you will still need to reduce the sliders somewhat etc. However it is commonly believed/reported to save 200-300MB of VAS which makes it somewhat easier.

Loading halting at 80% usually means a corrupted scenery.cfg which is unrelated to the fixer - it changes shaders not scenery or textures - so this is a separate issue. I would guess that you have you been uninstalling scenery to try to avoid the VAS issues and something has gone wrong.
