Cockpit Integration

Featured Replies

Maybe I'm missing it but. . .

Is there yet a way to integrate these gauges into 3D cockpits? Or is this going to be the province of the designers--Carenado, vFyte, etc?

Hi Marshall,

We are preparing a forum post which will detail an example configuration for a couple aircraft today or tomorrow.

Hi Marshall,

Thanks. And are you working with model-makers to build "one-button" integration ala Flight1? That would be the ideal, rather than users tinkering around in Planemaker.

@Marshall:

Reality XP has been at the forefront of third party aircraft integration since our first Apollo GPS simulation in 2002! The GTN builds upon our legacy and is "custom-third-party-aircraft-integration" ready.

Each button and knob have a corresponding custom command third party can call/trigger,  and GTN data is exported through custom datarefs for third party to consume/display. It is documented in the User's Manual and we will always be pleased to assist.

The integration type which is mostly looked after is 3D panel, which requires not only the space for displaying the GTN but ideally a 3D model of the GTN bezel.

You can do the former on your end right now, simply editing the RealityXP.GTN.ini file.

The latter requires the panel to be specifically modelled.

See this nice example of the upcoming AFM Mooney 20 with Reality XP GTN integration:

That's good to hear, and good to know about the Mooney-builder in question.

Have you reached out to Carenado, and Leading Edge Simulations and other more-established names? There are plenty of models now with hard-to-manipulate GNS setups that are crying out for touch-screen convenience. I'm just wondering whether you've been doing the evangelizing with these makers, or whether users will have to bug them about it.

Good luck with it all. It's a good product--if a bit green, understandably, for now. And thanks for such a prompt response. It matters and is appreciated.

Best,

Marshall

Thank you for your kind words Marshall and yes, we'll be evangelizing more in the future (for now we are a little more focussed on releasing the products). Reality XP has been in touch with Carenado for many years, a lot of their FS aircraft include our GNS integration for example. I think you can't loose asking the makers: the more, the merrier!
