December 6, 20169 yr Does any one know if d3d11 errors could be caused by a new graphics card driver install. I dont have that updaet kb267038 and I run windows 7
December 6, 20169 yr It is possible. D3D11.dll is a system file (unless you have the hacked version placed in your main FSX directory). The Event Viewer or AppCrashView will show you the version of the dll. It could be corrupted too so you might run System File Check (sfc /scannow) and see if it is corrupted. You are posting in the Official DX10 Support Forum so wondering why as it has nothing to do with DX10. If you ever had the SweetFX hack installed in your FSX directory, there's also a .ini file that initiates the SweetFX hack. If you removed the D3D11.dll from your main fsx directory, it may be trying to call this hack and cannot find it. The old "fix" for this issue (removing the KB267038 Windows Update) is old and may not be valid anymore as Windows Explorer has been updated many, many times and even Microsoft might have removed it as it was known to cause problems on many Windows 7 computer systems (and not just FSX)).
