December 8, 200421 yr Actor Morgan Freeman Grounded by FAA for Busting Altitude Regs. Apparently he was flying into Teterboro and was cleared down to 3000, but instead looked at the approach plate and cleared himself down to 2000. Oops...Article doesn't say how long he's grounded for though.Hey at least they didn't send him back to Shawshank. I heard that place is rough... :-)That is one of my favorite movies though.Regards,JoeRest of story found here:http://www.wokr13.tv/entertainment/story.a...18-22EEF76AE40AExcerpt"Movie star Morgan Freeman's flying dreams have been dealt a severe blow - he has been grounded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for breaking altitude rules. The 'Driving Miss Daisy' star was reprimanded when he failed to observe landing regulations at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, and now he has no idea when he'll be able to take off again. The actor explains, "I'm being censored by the FAA and they're going to ground me. The hardest thing about flying is holding altitude. It's a three-dimensional effort." CryptoSonar on Twitch & YouTube.
December 8, 200421 yr It sounds like he probably doesn't understand what it means to be "cleared" for the approach at which point he can fly at the altitude which is on the chart.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2 Michael J.
December 8, 200421 yr Morgan better file one of these,http://asrs.arc.nasa.gov/forms/PDF_Files/general.pdf get out of jail free cards,(I keep one in my tool box at work)Then the fed's can't do anything to his certificate.
December 8, 200421 yr Jim,That only applies I think if you report yourself Prior to the FAA finding out or taking action. It sounds like they already took action on his certificate, so it may be too late for the Nasa form.Regards,Joe CryptoSonar on Twitch & YouTube.
