Planemaker Help Needed!

Featured Replies

I need some help using Planemaker to modify overly sensitive controls.

1) I have some payware airplanes that are way too sensitive in pitch during the most critical part of flight (the flare.)

2) Sometimes when you bring down the flaps, the nose goes down when it should go up slightly.

What are the parameters in "Standard/Control Geometry Section" that I should play with?

The default version of the c172 in xp 11b3 feels right. The airplane is not overly sensitive at all in all phases of flight.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Jose,

As for number 2), some low-wing aircraft exhibit this behavior.

You could decrease the max up/down deflection of the elevator (in the first tab "controls").

To restore the original control authority, probably you will have to increase the "elevator trim surface" deflections (in the third tab "Trim & speed").

Increasing the "minimum elevator deflection time" also tends to produce a less reactive aircraft, but if increased too much, could lead to pilot induced oscillations.

Thanks. I'll try that.
