December 24, 20169 yr Commercial Member Aaron, Certainly impressive. If I recall correctly, that test happened in the early 1960s and was certainly an achievement. I've often wondered if the test was performed for the Navy, or another U.S. Government Agency, but given the Cold War and Vietnam war heating up, it's difficult to say. An even more impressive carrier borne feat was accomplished just over 20 years earlier than the C-130. Hint: it did not involve carrier landings!
