Terra Emergence Project for FSX/P3D

Recommended Posts

Aimee, all is working fine now. I uninstalled and reinstalled TEP and this time around I encoded the add-on.xml file as UTE-8-BOM and that did the trick for me. Thank you very much for listening and for these great TEP.

Kind regards,
Hans van WIjhe

After looking at this whole thread I still cannot exactly identify what your TEP covers vs what Orbx Global Base and Global LC NA as an example.

From ORBX site What FTX Global Does

• Replaces all the default landclass textures located in \Scenery\World\Texture with custom Orbx FTX textures

• Adds 3D lights to all vector main roads all over the world. These can be turned on and off using FTX Central

• Makes corrections to the base landclass for some parts of the world, particularly in SE Asia

From ORBX site : What does FTX Global openLC do:

Landclass data is the way the simulator knows what all the land is being used for and tells the simulator what type of ground should go where, for example: Forest, City, Agriculture, Desert, Docks, Grassland, etc. The simulators come with a global default coverage of landclass data, but many areas contain missing or in-accurate data. FTXG openLC plans to change that.

I've see people happy to use TEP with Orbx Global products but I'd like to see exactly what should I be looking after installing TEP to identify benefits and / or losses.  I expect I'm not alone as threre's a lot of questions on that matter.

Thanks in advance  J Guy
