Fail Passive and operational

Featured Replies

I usually do FO (Fail Operational) but I did test FP (Fail Passive) KSAN.

Both ok (screenshots).

Do a few screenshots (various altitudes) of your panel during your approach so we can see what is causing your No Autoland.

I haven't forgot about this thread.  I was kept from doing a NGX flights this weekend.  I will try when I get off work again..

Which PMDG737 aircraft, airport and ILS are you using for your test?

Ok, so I did a test flight last night (LAS to SAN). It was late, and I'm in between shifts, so I had to hurry and didn't have time to post an update.

Strangely enough it worked. I really have no idea what could have changed. All I had done was change ALL liveries to Fail Operational. Then last night I went and changed one WN livery to Fail Passive. I left the standby altimeter to ISFD, but I think the last time it failed the AA livery had an ISFD.

Nevertheless I had no problems. I didn't do anything different. I did notice that the baro setting (minimums) doesn't sync like the altimeter setting on the F/O side. That's the only thing I set on both sides but I don't see how that could fail it.

I'll post pics later. At work. :-)

Fail Operation 737s  are rare  (JAL is the only airline I know of that has it). They do have the LAND 3/2. Most 737s that do autoland just have the FLARE.

Cheers.

All Air Berlin 737's have / had them as well.

With kind regards, Bogdan Misko.
