MAC/AMC Charters

Featured Replies

After reading Bill Ball's latest column on frugalsworld about flying some MAC/AMC charters in his 'day' job, I've taken on on the task in FS with the PMDG 744.From what I can see, the primary jump off points to Europe and the middle east are BWI, BGR, and WRI to EGPK (Prestwick) EINN (Shannon) and ETAR (Ramstien AFB) and EDFH (Hahn). Flown generally by World Airways and Contenental with some by ATA. There are alos cargo flights on Polar, Atlas and Evergreen that I'm not including, but it is a sim world!I'm looking for some other routes- I've seen stuff like Elmendorf to Osan, Elmendorf to Kadena.Any other routes that civil lift flies? (even CONUS. Lots of Gray AAF Flights) I assume that there is regular service to the Middle East on civil lift for the military.

If u want to buy a book that has all the AMC Flight Skeds in it I recommend u go to www.militaryliving.com and follow the link to their Books. Scroll to the bottom of the Books and ur looking for the title "Military Space-A Opportunities Around the World". I think it sells for around $25.00. It's got eveything ur looking for and a lot more. There are hundred's of AMC flights that u'll never learn about unless u have this manual.Hope this helpshttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/135290.jpg

A good site to check some stuff out on would be www.baseops.net

I'm looking for the civil stuff as opposed to USAF metal.

If you want to look at real-time real world flight plans bring up http://flightaware.com/. Pick an airline/flight or just go to the airport of your choice and click on a flight departed to your chosen destination in the enroute or departure window. The progress window that comes up adjacent to the map typically has the full flightplan waypoints in the related field including waypoints by coordinates at times. This might give you examples of what you are looking for. This is a free tracking site.RBV ETX J60 IOW J60 DBL J80 SAKES J80 OAK BEBOP R464 BAART R464 BITTA MAGGI3is a route I just captured from KJFK to PHNL, New York to Honolulu.COTLO NCA30 OME R338 NATES R220 NANAC OTR10is KJFK to RJAA Narrita.BGR J49 PQI J582 UM J582 YDP VIBDI 6000N 06000W 6200N 05000W 6300N 04000W 6300N 03000W 6000N 02000W GOMUP MORAG UN569 NURSI UN559 SHAis KBGR to EINN (Shannon) that shows the coordinates of NATTRACS waypoints. As the flights progress, more info is given. You can get the past days flights as well.I do not know if AMC/MAC flights are included but you can tell I assume by the flight numbers.See if this helps.

The "Space-A" Manual I referred to includes AMC & commercial contractor scheduled flights for DOD. There are, naturally, a lot more AMC flights than COM contractor ones. That's just the nature of the business. And it's almost impossible to run-down, with any definitive regularity, data on unsked flights.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/135315.jpg

Right now EINN has two inbound World Airways MD-11'sWOA 8432 from Campbell AAF - KHOPWOA 8454 from KBGRFort Cambell, Fort Benning - KLSF - and Hunter AAF - KSVN - near Fort Stewart appear to be the source of non-stop flights across the Atlantic to Shannon when the weather is right. Most I've seen from Fort Hood - Gray AAF - KGRK - have stopped at Bangor or Goose Bay.The return can vary. We've seen flights come in to KDFW non-stop from EDDF - along with Fort Hood and Fort Bliss.I've also seen incoming flights stop at Bangor for customs clearance so that the homecoming at Gray would not be delayed by formalities.Part of the airport decision depends upon the type of return flight. For the 2 week R&R - the military will try to get the flight into a major airport to speed the troops connections to their home town. For a returning unit - they want an airport which is not too busy to allow time for reunions.I also see GTI8404 from KDOV to ETAR due in at 1000Z (B742F) and WOA8036 from ETAR to KBWI due to depart soon.By and large the US military no longer runs large aircraft full of troops through military bases. They no longer go to the expense of maintaining the large terminal facilities for the relatively few number of flights. It's a lot cheaper to pay for use of civilian facilities than maintain the staff and physical plant. There are of course exceptions. For EGPK two flights inbound from KCHS - GTI8204 & GTI8382 - B742/B744.For EDFH inbound flightsATN443 - DC97 from EWROAE976 - DC-10 from KATLOAE756 - B752 from KGTB - Fort Drum New YorkDepartingOAE806 - DC-10 to KBGR

FLightaware was where I began :) I was even looking at places lik PHF and ORF for charters (like SWA) and found none over teh past few eeeks, but I know they run there. BWI is a major terminal for flights to Europe, and BGR does clear customs a lot.WRI has a good number of Atlas and Evergreen flights to Europe, not so many from DOV.I'd like it if FLightaware would allow you to pull up all Atlas flights that it covers in one shot instead of seaching by airport.
