January 23, 20179 yr New York is Aerofly FS 2 but what comes after that? Is that Outerra? Yes. Outerra just released an OSM test of the city of Bern and its road network, and after a few more updates and tests is thinking of releasing an osm world. Always something new on the horizon. It's been very quiet on that front, but that's because they've been completely refactoring the program, to futureproof things a bit. And of course, I'm always watching. By the way, I've heard mention of possibly up to 5 million buildings at a time, with a negligible performance hit............. Anyway, back to Aerofly........... We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically. January 23, 20179 yr Wow, that looks cool... Does it have Rift support already? I remember seeing a Cessna or something like that being used a loooooooong time ago in Outerra: is there already something flyable in it? Can anyone download this and 'fly'?
January 23, 20179 yr Rift support is funky and kind of experimental, but it does work. There are a lot of free planes, but they are very basic so far, no buttons to press at all. I think you would hate them. There is a private group working on perfecting flight, (FDM's etc) but it's a volunteer effort with developer support, and it's...... gonna be a while. Outerra engine development is the primary priority of the devs. http://leviscires.wixsite.com/outerra-mods We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... January 23, 20179 yr J van E Yes after Aerofly Is Outerra. I know I am not a true sim flier /pilot But I use whatever makes the video more interesting. As Far as detail of the scenery what ever is available now. The Aerofly beats everything. Perhaps (*I dont know if it is still around) Mega scenery has a great coverage and quality. Then My computer was slow however. Whenit comes to forests nothng beats Outerra. Too bad it is not completed. And I am so dumb that I can barely use any of the programs ( Iam an old guy almost 73)
January 23, 20179 yr In my opinion a synthetic world like Outerra or XP that looks as real as possible is the best option in the future. Photoscenery is just a shortcut before we can achieve that. 120fps in a convincing Outerra-based real world with fully fledged flight models and navigation would be a dream at another level. 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11
