December 15, 200520 yr FS9 ATC often issues a clearance "as filed". Is this terminology used in real aviation? The UK CAA Radiotelephony Manual states that the clearance passed to the aircraft may vary from a detailed description of the route and levels to a brief Standard Instrument Departure using the aircraft's full callsign. The clearance is to be read back to avoid misunderstanding (unless otherwise authorised by the appropriate ATS authority) and the readback confirmed by the controller. Gerry Howard
December 15, 200520 yr Fs2004's ATC. Is not what you would call "real. It seems to base it self off of faa ruels. "As field" Is used in the us for clearnce delivery. United2112, cleared to kbos, via the ohare one deaprtuer, Radar vectors to badger then as filed (rest of clearence). If you would like to have realistic atc in flight simulator. Check out a program called Radar Contact.

December 15, 200520 yr :( Vatsim, forgot about that. Anyway. Vatsim is free and is a online component. Radar Contact and payware, offline only.
December 15, 200520 yr I wouldn't worry about it. Vatsim is overrated, anyways. Yeah, it's realistic; if you're willing to fly only where and when there are controllers on, or you set your flying schedule by Vatsim's fly-in calandar. If, for some reason, you can't fly according to Vatsim's schedule, then the world becomes a big, uncontrolled airfield.
December 15, 200520 yr and with zero planes around you. until you can fly with AI and other people, I will not touch multiplayer
December 15, 200520 yr You can fly with other people on VATSIM... Just not with AI.Daniel P.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpgMember of SJU Photography. December 15, 200520 yr >That is why I use both. radar contact for offline, Vatsim>online.I just ordered Radar Contact for the same reason. I like to fly early in the morning on the weekends, and usually not many controllers. Can't wait to give RC4 a try......The tutorial looks pretty interesting...
December 16, 200520 yr If ATC agrees with part of your plan, they say "then as filed". I've never had them just say, "as filed". So far the closest I've had is "Cleared via the Spokane Six departure, then as filed."----------------------------------------------------------------John MorganReal World: KGEG, UND Aerospace Spokane Satillite, Private ASEL 141.2 hrs, 314 landings, 46 inst. apprs.Virtual: MSFS 2004"There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have. December 16, 200520 yr I agree with John. Actually, many times I have had a clearance to an initial fix (which may be a SID transition or just a fix enroute) which is totally different to what I filed (which requires some scrambling to get ready and prepered for the unexpected portion of the route), then: "then as filed". I always remember the "as filed" part, as in the initial IFR flight that I did as part of my training I left out the "as filed" in the readback- I was far too busy focusing on this new route segment that I had just been given. The CLC controller politely reminded me :)Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
December 16, 200520 yr Author Yep, when getting your initial clearance from ATC, to save RT time, they will give you a SID (and sometimes the runway they expect you to use if it's different from the current or originally expected one) and then the routing and txpr code. If the routing is exactly as you filed on the flight plan, they will just say "as filed".At Heathrow some ATCers say "as filed" others just say cleared to "blah" via a blah 2 blah SID. We know what they mean.It may be different in other parts of the world.Hope this helps,Ian
