Can't get HD mesh to work

Recommended Posts

Almost certainly PB9 data is more up-to-date (Probably by a few months), but it isn't HD definition.

You've lost me again.  When you say HD I'm thinking monitor resolution like 1080P etc.  How does HD apply to the OSM data?  Does it mean it's more dense?... that XP will render smaller vector things like rivers, roads, smaller lakes etc?

Yes exactly, so the mesh is more "high-definition", you'll see better coastlines, more detailed mountains, lakes and rivers and generally the landclass is a little more accurate (or less blocky).

When talking about OSM data, it generally depends on which data. I don't think the roads look any different (At least they don't seem to be for me), but the water and coastlines from OSM will be a a little more accurate (but that depends on the quality of the data in first place).

So, PB9 has newer OSM data (so roads might be more accurate, ie. More of them), but it's still low-definition compared to HD Mesh. Personally, I'd stick with HD Mesh, the differences in data are minimal unless you've personally been editing OSM and what to see your changes
