Hi all,

 

I'm a newby to x-plane, i have x-plane 11 installed since last week.
Now i try to get the hd mesh v3 to work.
It's the only addon i have so far, so no interfering other addons.
I followed the install instruction very strictly and checked if everything was how it shoulc be about 30 times now.

I think i did everything totally correct but according to my log.txt x-plane does not load the zzz_hd_global_scenery3 folder.
I could use some help here.

As you can see from the log file it only loads files from Custom Scenery/Global Airports and from Global Scenery/Earth nav data.

 

Again, i would surely appreciate some help here.

Possibility: Check your folder structure of the HD Mesh install.

 

The sub-folder within the "Custom Scenery/zzz_hd_global_scenery3/" needs to be "Earth nav data", followed by the subfolders pertaining to each section.

 

For example:

 

\Custom Scenery\zzz_hd_global_scenery3\Earth nav data\+40-120 contains all of the individual .dsf files which pertain to +40-120.

That's exactly the folder structure that i have and it just doesn't work. I have looked and checked and looked and checked and really every little thing is "by the book".

I really hope you or others have more ideas here.

The only other thought I have is to ensure that you have downloaded the correct tiles for where you are trying to fly. Other than that, someone else will have to pitch in.

I saw your post as well, but I had to step out before I could answer. Your issue is different - your mesh is loading, evidenced by your log. So as not to derail the OP's topic, I'm going to reply on your topic.

I haven't used HD or UHD mesh for quite a while. But I just checked my files and I have the dsf files directly under the main folder, no EarthNavData on top of them. Maybe have a look at one of the downloaded zip files again.

Hmm, I just downloaded one of the smaller HD tiles and it expands as \\XP10_HD_Mesh_V3_+20-020-Africa\+20-020.

Definitely needs the Earth nav data folder, they're not in the downloaded files but they need to be created and placed within it (as per the instructions)

Well if hjsmuc does not have the Earth nav data folder, maybe that is a fix? I still have the issue aswell... Ima just try it

He's not, he just downloaded a file and noticed there wasn't earth nav data in the downloaded file.

 

It'll need the Earth nav data for sure, really no point trying without.

 

Could you post a screen shot of your folder tree? Have you tried a different region?

The installation instructions are actually very straightforward, I must have overlooked this regularly. 

Flightskyc i have tried alot (2 videos.. 1 forum post, re-did the instructions like 5 times now i think), what i can tell you is that the game loads without errors (according to logs). I have tried many different regions and confirmed that the mesh i have installed is in that region. I have also confirmed that there actually is not any HD mesh even it loads in (two of the exact same textures next to each other, plus i know how my home town looks from above ).

I am out of ideas, here is the priority, no need to show logs, i am sure it is showing the correct:
