P3D V3.4 blurry ground textures

Featured Replies

Hi,

First of all the blurry ground textures are caused by "Affinitymask" entry in my P3D.cfg.

[JOBSCHEDULER]

AffinityMask=254

I am using this entry for my FX-8350 CPU. This CPU is really weak for this game with affinity mask I gain at least 5 fps. So I can play the game with 30 fps smoothly but as I said blurry ground textures occur.

Is there a way to solve this problem without deleting Affinitymask entry in P3D.cfg ?

There is a theory that P3D runs best when only using 4 Cores.

Your AffinityMask=254 uses 7.

Try a value of AffinityMask=240 or 170 to reduce it to 4 cores.

Apart from that you can only really reduce your P3D settings or overclock cpu.

Since P3D v3.2 blurries / slow (late) loading textures are a common problem. IMO there is no solution, I have tried nearly every thinkable configuration (correct AM does only help to a certain degree). It also strongly depends where you fly, mountainous areas (e.g. ORBX PNW or SAK) are particularly bad in terms of texture sharpening. What is really annoying, is the fact that textures in  flight direction load slow, while textures directly below, sidewards or backwards load faster. Unfortunately, we are flying forwards ...

My advice: Get used to it.

In your p3d.cfg, change:

TEXURE_BANDWIDTH_MULTI =30 ...........to 100

That solved the continual blurries for me.  No other tweaks for me including AM

Don't forget the proviso that TEXURE_BANDWIDTH_MULTI =

is only supposed to work with internally locked frames.

That is definitely not true in my case.  Unlimited frames and no blurry textures.  But switching TBM back to 30 gives me the same blurry textures.
