February 3, 20179 yr Hi Flown using B.A Virtual for a number of years now,,,doing short haul Airbus and 737 routes UK to Europe I don't get time for long haul so 2-3 hours Is what I do. But want to try out the good ol usa but would be in the dark as to options. So looking for a decent v.a that you don't need to be online- vatsim or alike. that fly routes lasting up to 4hrs has anybody any recommendations Thanks in advance Andrew
February 4, 20179 yr Andrew, Not sure how "realistic" you want your VA to be. If enjoying your hobby is more important to you than flying real-world routes, have a look at Platinum Airways. We apply the Open Skies principle: fly your mission of choice with the aircraft of choice at your time of choice. We offer hubs and schedules to our pilots, but they are free to decide. Our hubs are: KEWR, KFDW, CYVR, YPPH and EBBR. We also have suggested military and vintage military missions, suggested cargo missions, a Destination of the Week (our February theme will focus on bird strikes), sports missions in North America and Europe, etc. We are offline by default, but several of our pilots fly via Vatsim or IVAO. Our requirements: minimum 18 years of age, first PIREP within 14 days after joining, minimum 1 PIREP per month thereafter (or request leave). And our most important requirement: you must enjoy your hobby. Stijn -- President, Platinum Airways (the very virtual Open Skies airline)
February 7, 20179 yr If you do not want online stuff such as Vatsim or FSCARS that requires Internet use, check out Eastern Airlines at its link: http://www.virtualeastern.com/. It has thousands of flights across America in different eras from past to present. Hundreds of choices of planes. No online gimmick EXCEPT filing manual PREIPs on the VA's website when you finish the flights OFFLINE. Regards, Aharon
December 16, 20178 yr Join the new Delta Airlines VA! For now, only a Discord server, but with ACARS and a website coming soon, we'll be growing in no time. Please join and fly with us in one of our compatible sims: Prepar3D, FSX/FSX:SE, and X-Plane 11. https://discord.gg/P2V3HCz
