February 4, 20179 yr Hello, I was hand flying the airplane around Chicago today practicing circuits and when it was time for the airplane to capture the LOC/GS for rwy 28C, It never did and it flew right through it. The FMC autotuned it with the correct frequency and course. However, the displayed identifier and and corresponding LOC/GS indicators on the PFD were totally off. APP mode stayed armed the entire time but never captured. ( which makes perfect sense for this situation.) I am fairly positive that this isn't an issue with eh 747 but an issue with FSDT KORD scenery not actually having a 28C runway (it was originally 28L I guess when the scenery was made.) That being said, has anyone else had this issue and do any of you know what runway I need to use when setting up the box for the approach that takes into account the old KORD runway layout? It sounds like the current AIRAC doesn't match up with the old KORD runway layout. When lined up with the runway, the ND course line for the ILS is centered up and it would appear that everything should be ok. It's just the PFD indications are for a totally different runway. Any help would be appreciated. FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠 Matt Kubanda, 7950X3D, 64GB RAM, RTX 5090@4k, MSFS 2024
February 4, 20179 yr FSDT only has 28R modeled. If your using the FMC with the latest Navigraph, 28L & 28C will show up with their respective ILS settings but since there is no ILS signal modeled in FSDT, the ILS is never picked up in the aircraft. GNacino
February 4, 20179 yr FYI - FSTD is currently doing a comprehensive update to their KORD scenery, which will add the new runway. According to Umberto, they just got started, so it will be a while before it is released. GNacino Thats exactly what I figured. oh well. Won't be coming into KORD anytime soon. 28C is what they use for heavies when landing.
