CP is not launching together with P3D

Recommended Posts

Hi Keven:

Since yesterday my CP is not launching together with P3D even with the option selected in the PREFERENCE page. So, I need to open it after P3D has launched every time. I see the CP entry in my exe.xml file in %AppData% folder, so I don't know what could be happening.

Do you suggest something?.

Thanks in advance, Ed

CP is still not launching together with P3D (with, of course, the auto-lunch option selected). This has been like this for the last week.

Any suggestions?.

Thanks Ed

I had this occur after an update, I unchecked the auto launch, started Prepar3D, manually started CP. I then closed Prepar3D and CP(selected auto launch before closing). Started Prepar3D, CP started automatically, all good

You tried toggling it off and on?

Yes, several times with no luck

Thanks for the suggestion. Used this same procedure and it's not working for me.

Do you have anything related to ChasePlane in your Event Viewer?

Is ChasePlane running in the background without being in the tray?

Regards,

Keven

Nothing related to ChasePlane in Event Viewer.

ChasePlane is not running in the background. To make CP running I have to open it separately, once P3D is running.

Best, Ed

Can you post the relevant portion of the exe.xml here?

Here is the entire exe.xml:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?>

<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">

  <Descr>Launch</Descr>

  <Filename>exe.xml</Filename>

  <Disabled>False</Disabled>

  <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>

  <Launch.Addon>

    <Name>as_btstrp_config_manager</Name>

    <Disabled>True</Disabled>

    <Path>as_srv\as_btstrp_config_manager.exe</Path>

  </Launch.Addon>

  <Launch.Addon>

    <Name>AutogenConfigurationMerger</Name>

    <Disabled>False</Disabled>

    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>

    <Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\SceneryDesign.org\AutogenConfigurationMerger\AutogenConfigurationMerger.exe</Path>

  </Launch.Addon>

  <Launch.Addon>

    <Name>ChasePlane</Name>

    <Disabled>False</Disabled>

    <Path>D:\OldProp Solutions Inc\ChasePlane\ChasePlane.exe</Path>

    <CommandLine>P3Dv3</CommandLine>

  </Launch.Addon>

</SimBase.Document>

If you remove everything to leave only CP, does it fix the problem?

I'm away now, but will check after 2 pm my time (US Eastern).

Will report back.

Thanks, Ed

Hi:

Removed everything not related to ChasePlane, like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
  <Descr>Launch</Descr>
  <Filename>exe.xml</Filename>
  <Disabled>False</Disabled>
  <Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>
  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>ChasePlane</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Path>D:\OldProp Solutions Inc\ChasePlane\ChasePlane.exe</Path>
    <CommandLine>P3Dv3</CommandLine>
  </Launch.Addon>
</SimBase.Document>

CP is still not auto-launching with P3D. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions.

Thanks, Ed

Alright, contact us via email and we'll sort this out since it seems to be an isolated issue.

I'have the same problem after one update in January.

Probably Keven could update us about the progress of his findings. Had a TViewer session with him last week on which he kindly spent some of his busy time checking my setup, but apparently there was nothing wrong, so he said he would investigate further on his end.

Cheers, Ed

Are both of you using Avira as your anti-virus?

I confirm, as you noticed during our TViewer session, that I use Avira A/V.

Ed

I will wait for an update to resolve this issue, but I am willing to do some testing that is needed.

Hi Alex:

Seems that Keven suspects the issue has something to do with the Avira A/V. Are you using it too?.

Ed
