February 11, 20179 yr For those that haven't tried it out yet, you can get fiery-orange wheel wells on the 747 by racing down the runway a few times and performing maximum stops. I managed to eventually get to "10" on the wheels on the lower MFD, and then noticed the air pressure on some tires was headed for zero- yep the heat plugs blew letting the air out - very nice detail that I've never seen modeled in in a PC Flight Simulator. Also, when all the main gear tires are blown, you can barely move the aircraft. Nicely Done! Next I'm going to run them up to a 10 again, take off, and retract them to see if it triggers a wheel well fire. Yeah sometimes I roll that way. Mark Trainer Mark Trainer
February 11, 20179 yr Load the 744 to maximum allowable - stick yourself in Mexico city on a nice hot day and do a V1 cut (aka - rejected takeoff)!!! Dave Robertson BE20, BE35, BE02, C560, CRJ, MD80, E190, B777
February 11, 20179 yr very nice detail that I've never seen modeled in in a PC Flight SimulatorThey first did this on the PMDG 777 a few years back. Pretty cool. Wes Meyer
February 12, 20179 yr Another one you can try is to get the brake temperature up to 10, then take off again, leave the gear down, and watch them cool. Captain Kevin Air Kevin 124 heavy, wind calm, runway 4 left, cleared for take-off. Live streams of my flights here.
February 12, 20179 yr leave the gear down, and watch them cool.Or, retract them and get a wheel well fire indication! Fun times! Wes Meyer
February 12, 20179 yr Or, retract them and get a wheel well fire indication! Fun times! He had already said he was going to try that, that's why I hadn't suggested it. Captain Kevin Air Kevin 124 heavy, wind calm, runway 4 left, cleared for take-off. Live streams of my flights here.
