Engine exhaust "efflux" effects

Featured Replies

I have noticed that while the 747 has it's engines running and looking at the engine axhaust efflux effect i have a significant frame drop..If i shut all the angines the frames goes back to normal (30 and above). If this is the case with the particular effect,is there any way to disable this effect? This happens only when i press F11 and look at the plane from outside..

Thanks in advance..

Welcome to the forum.

I think that this might be an option in an upcoming update, but don't hold me to that.

Kyle thank you so much for your quick reply...Apologies for not placing my name at this forum.

My name is Kostas Karageorgis.

So is it normal that i get that frame loss when i look at the plane from outside while engines running or is it just me that i face this problem?

Kostas,

It will affect people differently based on their systems, and settings. For me, it doesn't really have a large effect, but my sim rig is on the higher end of systems.

The presence of the effect with the engines on will certainly have some sort of effect on everyone, though, as extra stuff to render will cause a performance hit versus nothing extra to render.

Kyle,

Thanks for your reply.I was wondering if i could change something in the aircraft cfg so i can omitt that effect. You know it's really impressive to see perfect frames while the a/c is on ground with engines off but when you start engines 1 and 2 (3 and 4 already started with NO frame loss),there comes the problem.

Anyway,Kyle i reaaly appreciate your help here.I would definately fly the Queen no mater what!!

I think that would be a welcome option Kyle.

While I love the effect, it can impact performance and we lived without it since forever so I don't think I'd really miss it, hehe.

I do love the heat bloom on the APU and would like to see the option to disable either the main engines or the APU separately...please.

(Not holding you too it...but giving you a yes vote if it comes to determining if anyone would really want it.) :good:

Steve Dra
