sooner or later I'll have a crash or two

Tom, if CTD events are that normal then there is something amiss.  My experience is that they tend to occur in episodes and up to eight months to a year may go by without an event.  The episodes usually last a couple of weeks before the problem is eliminated or is resolved.  Back in the 32b era one might expect an OOM at anytime but since the advent of 64b the stability should be good enough to not need automatic backups.

My experience it about the same as yours. Like the last time the CTDs were happening because I was trying to use Nvidia Inspector. It's not like it's happening super often. It's just that when it does it's supper annoying. Maybe more so because it happens so rarely. Of course it also depends on what you are flying. There is one airliner that I never know what is going to upset it. I'm almost afraid to touch anything once I get it going. I don't fly it much.

That made me laugh, sounds like a woman I know that I'm almost afraid to talk to.  I don't talk to her much.
