December 31, 200520 yr >Lot of you guys are waiting this new MS FS release.I'm not. When it comes it comes, until then I'll use what I have and like.Just because someone has claimed (there is no statement from Microsoft remember, just an announcement that there will be a statement sometime next week) there will be a next version doesn't mean the current one is suddenly no good...>But I am SCARRED !>plastic surgery can help.>What about all these adds on we have put in our systems. Will>they still be compatible ? No, they never have been compatible in the past.None of those old FS98 addons worked in FS2000, no FS2000 addons worked in FS2002, and no FS2002 addons could possibly work in FS2004.So why should FS2004 addons work in a new version?--> sarcasm mode off for a bit...>Will ALL the developpers provide>upgrades if it is possible? No. Historically most addons that were created for the previous version of FS (so FS2004 in this case) that needed an upgrade were upgraded. Those that weren't upgraded usually weren't because the cost of doing so would be too high.>How much will it cost just to>upgrade? Usually nothing or a very small amount. In extreme cases where you're essentially getting a completely new product you're effectively getting a discount on that new product.>And how long will we have to wait for upgrades ?Anything from days to years.>And our PC? Will we have to upgrade them to be able to handle>the new FS version ?>Depends on your PC.>Lot of questions and lot of money involved.>Yes, and most of that money isn't yours. All those free upgrades cost a LOT of money to create.>That is why I am SCARRED.>You really need that plastic surgeon then.

December 31, 200520 yr It's almost like people had themselves convinced that no other version of FS would be made. It's almost like there is a belief that the day FSX hits the shelves, a secret, built-in instruction set in FS2004 will run and render the program unuseable. Egads, man! Calm yourself! There are still people here flying 2002 and are happy with it! No one is forcing you to buy the new version! I say this with all due respect. Please, take it easy. T'ain't the end of the world. December 31, 200520 yr Was joking given the tone of your message overall... And yes, one letter (or even the position of a comma) can profoundly change the meaning of a sentence.
