February 28, 20179 yr Hey all, I have been away from flight simming for awhile, and just recently getting back into it. I am running FS9 on a Windows 10 computer, and recently I noticed some aircraft have disappeared from my aircraft folder. The path is C:Program Files (x86): Microsoft Games: Flight Simulator 9: Aircraft. The problem I am having is the aircraft folder is GONE from the aircraft folder, yet I can still select them when I start the game. I know they have to be somewhere, but I can not figure out where!! Anyone able to help? TIA
February 28, 20179 yr I'm still on Win7, but generally you should avoid installing the sim into a folder that's managed by Windows User Account Control, and the Program Files(x86) is one of them. C:\FS9 would be better. Maybe it's worth trying a re-install.
February 28, 20179 yr Author So you are saying make a folder on the C drive and name it FS9, and reinstall everything in there? Just wanna make sure I got this rignt..LOL
March 1, 20179 yr Yes a new folder on the C drive would work, as would creating a new volume entirely and installing it there. Your missing aircraft folders will be in the windows "virtual store". One of the problems with installing FS9 in the default "program files" folder. When you do an uninstall make sure these are removed too. ps dont forget to update to version FS9.1 Peter Schluter
March 1, 20179 yr Author Yep after doing more snooping I did find the missing aircraft folders, and they are gone, and Flight Sim is reinstalled, and almost all my planes, scenery, etc. is reinstalled. Had to go get new keys for my Flight1 payware, but that was no problem, and yes FS9.1 is installed on there too...Thanks all for all the help :)
March 1, 20179 yr The next thing to do is to tell your anti-virus program to ignore your FS9 folder. If you have a lot of addons this will save you problems later on. Peter Schluter
