RXP GNS 750 XPlane 11, panel integration?

Featured Replies

I think the answer is in the Forum, but I am not finding it simiply spelled out.

I just bought the RXP GNS 750 and installed it in XPlane 11.  I like the product so far.  My question is:

How do I replace some of the instruments in stock 172 with the GNS 750?

I think it can be done, but I am just a simple user, please forgive me ahead of time.

really like being able to have the large version, but would like to integrate it into the panel, like other instruments and just click on it to make it big when I need it, and click on again to put it back in its proper place in the panel.

Thank You for any help.

This is not as easy as this in X-Plane, because the simulator is lacking this very capability.

In short, all the cockpit gauges are 3D models, or rendered artwork on a flat rectangle. In both cases, it requires the aircraft  modeller to add either or both. Only if your aircraft has a cockpit UV mapped texture (the flat rectangle), you can configure the GTN to render in any place over this rectangle. Otherwise, this is not possible.

I've raised the question to Laminar and there are possible avenues to make it simpler for you, the end-user, in the future. They are aware of the limitation and the need, and I'm sure once XP11 final is released there will be new options coming up.

I hope that RXP will monitor this and provide updates when available.
