My Traffic 2006 is most expensive. Is it also best

Featured Replies

The latest released traffic addon as far as I now is My Traffic 2006 and it's more expensive than all other traffic addons for example UT Traffic 2005.Is this extra money well invested? Is it also best? If not in what part?

I've had MyTraffic for years and love it. Simple installation with a huge complement of every assorted aircraft and a huge airport base. However, I haven't purchased the latest incarnation because I don't necessarily see a fundamental change or improvement in the 2005 version which as I've stated I'm more than satisfied with.

I would hold off buying MT2006 for now IMHO as I and a few others are having real problems with it causing FS to stutter badly. The author is aware of the problems and is working to fix this. The lastest attempt is different textures call the "Notebook Version". This still causes bad stutters and the move to remove mip maps puzzles me.I have for now removed MT2006 and used the PAI files with their installer to generate my AI. I have gone from 20% AI with stutters using MT2006 to 100% AI using PAI and no stuters. I'm sure others feel different but that's my take on things.David G

I have used MyTraffic since it's original release for FS2002 and have upgraded through all its iterations. I was on the beta team for this latest version which combines MyTraffic2004 with MyNavy (MyTraffic2004 already included MyMilitary) and adds a few new aircraft in all categories. The neatest part of MyTraffic2006 is the ability to change time eras. So if you want to fly early jet airliners you can change back to the 1960's and see representative aircraft and other jets with the paint jobs for airlines long past. I have to admit I didn't get to do much on the beta because the programmers for MyTraffic had already done such a good job there was very little to make comments on. It might be the most expensive but it does give the biggest bang for the buck too... in this case you get what you pay for ;).Zane

Hello: I am very interested on the "back to old times" part of MyTraffic2006, but I would want a somewhat accurate and complete group of flightplans for those times. I downloaded the demo version of the program but couldn't see anything about flightplans.Does anybody know where I can find more information about that? Thanks in advance.

I don't get hung up on trying to make everything an exact duplicate of a space in time and fly with either current weather or from an archived weather file (ASv6). MyTraffic does not make changes to the landclass, airports, buildings, just the AI traffic itself. Historic Airliner Group has done some beautiful earlier era sceneries with accurate airports if you want to install them.Zane
