Oculus software and SteanVR: Constantly Loading

Recommended Posts

 I have searched numerous directories, checked dll.xmls, etc and I cannot STOP these two from loading in P3D.

They both start 2-4 times while the sim is initiating, then whenever I change a plane or scenario. After a few times SteamVR refses to quit so Task Manager needs to close it.

Can anyone tell me how to stop this??

At present I am trying VR in FSX Steam and not P3D.

Thanks for attention

I know Oculus Software runs whenever I start FlyInside for P3D but that is to expect since FlyInside relies on Oculus Software. At least that is how I understand it.

As for Steam I noticed the same thing when I was using P3Dv3.4 but I haven't seen it when using P3Dv3.2. Maybe you can stop Steam from loading by making sure it's not started at the time you start your simulator.

Did you accidently set P3D to always start in Oculus mode?

I didn't know that it could be started in Oculus Mode. I will check the settings later and see what I can find.  Is there a particular screen that sets it?

I'm not sure either since I've never bothered with it but I know that in P3D you can right-click from your cockpit view and select 'Virtual Reality', either Cockpit or Virtual Cockpit.

Since P3D is using Oculus SDK it automatically loads the software if it's present.
