System Requirements Question for the PMDG 737 NGX

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of purchasing the NGX. This is probably a stupid question, but I'm not smart when it comes to computers, so I'll ask anyway:

My video card is the XFX Radeon RX 470 4gb Triple X. It is DirectX12 capable, but the recommendation for the NGX is DirectX11 capable. Will it still work with my PC? My apologies if this is a stupid question.

directx is backwards compatible. so a card that supports 12 will also work fine with anything that uses dx11 or earlier.

at least until you go back to like dx3 or something but that is from 20 years ago.

in fact, fsx uses dx9 so it's a bit strange they would list that requirement, maybe they just mean newer cards fare better... but not even very new, if you consider that dx11 was released around 2009 or so.

anyway if you can already run FSX on it then you shouldn't have any troubles :)

Thank you very much :)

Sam, FSX is more CPU then GPU driven and the NGX can be very demanding (beautiful ACFT by the way). Even older cards can handle FSX quite well...

Thanks for the reply! Since you mentioned it, I'll go ahead and ask: how do you think it will run with my specs?

• Intel - Core i5 - 7500 3.4 quad core processor

•the video card above

•8gb ddr4-2133 ram

I know it meets the recommended system requirements (at least I think it does) but how well will it run?

Thanks,

Sam

The question as to how this plane will run in FSX with your hardware has been answered in your other thread about the subject.
