Voice recognition Q400 versus PMDG

Featured Replies

Hi,

I fly both the Q400 and PMDG regularly and it appears that the PMDG-PNF is much better in recognizing what I say then the Q400-PNF.
In Q400 I have to say some phrases/words multiple times.

Is there a major difference in the PMDG/Q400 coding or is it caused by another issue?

P.S. (As requested earlier)
Can you please split the following phrase in 2 calls "FLAPS 0, I A S TWO TEN, CLIMB CHECKLIST TO THE LINE"
99 out of 100 times the PNF does not understand what I'm saying. Please do:

  • FLAPS 0, I A S TWO TEN
  • CLIMB CHECKLIST TO THE LINE

These are the command I see printed, not 210.  Each would be spoken as a single phrase.

"FLAPS 0, I A S ONE SIXTY, CLIMB CHECKLIST TO THE LINE"
"FLAPS 0, I A S TWO HUNDRED, CLIMB CHECKLIST TO THE LINE".
"FLAPS 0, I A S TWO FORTY, CLIMB CHECKLIST TO THE LINE".

Also, the voice recognition system is the same in all FS2Crew products, so your results will be identical so long as you use the published phrases.

The Dash 8 being a prop is nosier than the jets, so ambient background noise could be a factor.

Cheers,
