ENVTEX or REX4 w/ Soft Clouds?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I will be upgrading from FSX: SE to P3D v4 and I was wondering which texture replacement program I should buy.

There is currently a sale going on at simMarket for various products, including REX4 (ENVTEX is unfortunately not included).

The sale price for REX4 is €15,85 and ENVTEX costs €21.

I've read from reviews that they both do similar things but ENVTEX is better integrated with AS16 and ASCA.

So what would you recommend? Going with REX now it's on sale or spend to extra money and go with ENVTEX?

Thanks!

If you already have AS16 and ASCA, I'd recommend ENVTEX. They will soon publish SP1 which I believed will be a huge improvement and fully compatible with V4.

The current version still working in V4 if you want to.

I don't have it yet, they are also on sale right now and I have an upgrade discount.

Do you happen to know how the textures compare? Or is that a matter of personal preference?

I'm curious about this too. I own REX essentials, but it seems the jury is still out on if they will make it P3Dv4 compatible. So, if I go another way I'm curious about Envtex versus a newer REX product. I've never found Hifisim to be my preference with respect to textures.
