Turning off HDR luminance adaptation effect manually

Featured Replies

With PTA not being developed for v4 I'm looking for a way to disable the HDR luminance adaptation effect manually. I found a guide to the lighting settings in P3D and at the bottom it says the eye adaptation rate can be modified. I can't find the entry in my v3 cfg so I assume I have to add the line myself. If this is indeed the case, what do I put after the =? Will setting this to zero turn the effect off?

Is it work for v5? I used "Turn off HDR luminance adaptation effect" in P3Dv4.5 with PTA and dont like it in v5.

Ok in cfg default is:

ADAPTATION_RATE_SCALAR=0.050000

I'll try some of settings, perhaps 0 turn it off.

It is the rate of adaptation : you need to increase it to accelerate the change.

I tried 0.20 - looks good...

YES 🙂

Found per chance the same "guide to the lighting settings in P3D" yesterday 🙂

I recommand to take a look at HDR_BLOOM_THRESHOLD and decrease it to address the washed aspect of lighted objects.

Mine is now at 2.70 (inherited of REX EF in V4), instead of default 10.5.

Let me know what you think about.

Is it possible to turn it OFF permanently?

This is the only good effect in v5.

In jurisprudence, there is a principle - you look for the person who benefits.
