I'm sure this has been asked before but couldn't find anything in the archives: is there a way to -via the s key- to go directly from 2d view to vc view and back to 2d (skipping the outside views)?ricardo

One way I know of is to use the registered version of Pete Dowson's FSUIPC. You can assign a key or button to set a specific view in FS. I've got my yoke set up to do that now; the hat switch provides direct access to 2D, VC, Spot and Tower views without having to cycle through the others. If you don't have the registered FSUIPC there may be other ways, I'm not sure.
