July 2, 20178 yr Hi, Let me know if you would like me to submit a ticket, but never had an issue with PMDG problems. So today tried to uninstall the 744V2 to install the new verson but get this An error (-5006: 0x800004005) has occured whilst running the setup. Error Code: -5006 : 0x80004005 Error Information: >Kernel\CABFile.cpp (651) >SetupNew\setup.cpp (570) PAPP:PMDG 747-400 QOTSII Base Package P3D PVENDOR:PMDG Simulations, LLC. I am tempted on rebuilding my computer and having windows 7 fresh install.. Anyone had this issue? Brent Lewis
July 2, 20178 yr I haven't run into this issue, and I'm running Windows 10. Captain Kevin Air Kevin 124 heavy, wind calm, runway 4 left, cleared for take-off. Live streams of my flights here.

How are you uninstalling, Control Panel or the PMDG Installer? If Control Panel, did you try the PMDG Installer? Win10 (and Win7) keep the uninstall/repair stuff in Program Data\ProgrameCache folder and this should not be moved or linked. Any problems with the program cache will cause error when trying to uninstall from the control panel. It is highly unlikely that this is a Win10 problem, more likely you are using the Estonia Migration Tool? Dan Downs KCRP
July 2, 20178 yr Author Hi Dan, Sorry I meant the V3 (one released this year). I managed to finally uninstall it using a Microsoft tool, now having issues with installing. I will check it out later this weekend. Tempted to just buy a new computer for P3D V4. Not using any migration tool. Thanks for the reply. Brent Lewis
July 2, 20178 yr Sounds like you have a registry error. Not worth buying a new computer over, unless you want to but it sounds like you tend to say things like that off the cuff. What simulator are you using? Dan Downs KCRP
